"You can count on me

Like 1, 2, 3, I'll be there…

And I know that when I need it,

I can count on you like 4, 3, 2…

You'll be there...

'Cause that's what friends are supposed to do…"

~~~
"So, I got this recommendation to this weird college in Arizona, Feliks. It said that they knew I was a nerd for video games, which is kind of weird…Don't you think so?" Your best friend, Feliks, laughed a little and shook his head at you.
"Like, of course not! It just means that they're seeing you for what you love to do!" You frowned a little, but soon smiled back at the Polish boy next to you. In fact, you can barely tell if he's supposed to be a man or not. He always wore skinny jeans, pink articles of any type of clothing, and he was always wearing a 'Best' part to a best friends necklace. Shaking off the thought, you sighed and leaned against your locker, closing your eyes to think about what you were going to cook for dinner. You were currently at your lunch period, glad that you had fifth period next. French was such an easy subject to pass.
"Ohoho, did my ears deceive me? Has our little [Name] gotten a one-way ticket to the place of her dreams? A college that is full of people of her kind?" Your eyebrow twitched at the recognition of the voice's owner.
"What do you want now, Gilbert…I'm really not in the mood to deal with you. Like I ever am, but still." Gilbert laughed that raspy, drug-filled laugh that he always had and leaned on the locker next to you. His friends were circling around you and Feliks, making him groan loudly.
"Why don't you guys, like, ever leave us alone? It's like you enjoy our company or something. Ew." Francis and Antonio glared at Feliks, but returned their mischievous grins to you. Your lips twitched in anger, making the situation worse than it already was.
"We were just walking around and we heard [Name] had gotten a recommendation to her dream college. It didn't surprise us, though. She's so much like a nerd; she had that recommendation coming the first minute she set foot in the High School." You could sense the sly grin in Gilbert's words, which made you clench your fists unconsciously. Frowning, you kicked up off of the locker and grabbed Feliks' wrist, pulling him down the hallway.
"Well, I'd hate to tell you this, but there's no college around that has pole dancers as a study. I guess you'll be stuck on the streets for the rest of your life, considering the way you're going with your education." Feliks chuckled, quietly enough so the Bad Touch Trio wouldn't hear them. You could tell they were left dumbfounded considering they weren't following after you and Feliks like lost puppies again. It felt good to tell the trio off, but, on the inside, Gilbert's words hit you right where it hurt. Sure, you weren't the most popular girl in school, or a sports fan like most of the guys, but you were a sucker for a good adventure game. It killed you on the inside to have those guys on your tail about it every day; you were starting to get real affected by it.
"Um, [Name]…? You still have my wrist…" You were taken away from your thoughts once Feliks' voice hit your ear drums. You blinked and let go of his wrist almost immediately, a stray tear rolling down your cheek.
"Oh, yeah…Sorry…" You averted your gaze back to the ground, sadly examining the tile as if they felt the same pain as you. Well, you hoped they did. They got stepped on every day by fat kids!
"Did Gilbert, like, totally offend you with what he said?" You looked at Feliks, tears threatening to spill from your eyes, and nodded slowly, putting the back of your hand onto your mouth as a couple tears rolled down your cheeks. Feliks frowned. How dare he make his best friend cry like this! It tore him up from the inside to see you cry like this. It was like his only family being murdered right in front of his eyes, something that would pain many others to see. "Hey, [Name]…Remember what we talked about yesterday?" You sniffed lightly, looking up at the blond haired boy slowly. Remembering the past events of yesterday, you thought about what happened in Science class. You two spoke about what the worst sight of your life would be.
"You said…That the worst sight that you could ever see was seeing your friends cry or in pain…" He nodded at you. A smirk found its way onto Feliks' lips as he winked at you, the loud bell unable to let you respond.
"I'm gonna totally give those three a talk after school about making fun of you! Like, see you in Science!" You sniffed as Feliks turned on his heel and ran off to History class. You stood there, dumbfounded as to what just happened. Feliks was going to give them a talk? Well, that won't end nicely. Sighing, you rubbed your eyes from the other tears that were rolling down your cheeks and made your way downstairs to French class.
---
"I wonder if he'll be okay…" Your lips were curved in a perfect frown as you opened the doors to the back of the building, school having ended about two minutes ago. Sure, you knew Feliks was a tough boy, but when he said 'talk to those three', you couldn't help but be worried senseless. You continued to walk across the parking lot towards the back of the school, Feliks unable to leave your mind as you stepped foot onto the greenish-gray grass. Frowning, you sighed and turned back towards the school. "Feliks, you worry me way too much…" You opened the doors again and dropped your stuff by the door. You took off your jacket and made your way upstairs, knowing that the top floor teachers had already left because they always parked in funny spots. You heard the faint voices of four people down the hallway, an occasional sound of someone getting smacked. You went wide eyed with worry.
'Oh god, I hope Feliks isn't getting hurt…'
You poked your head around the corner, only to see the Trio from earlier beating down on Feliks. You gasped, though, not as discretely as you thought you had. The three stopped and looked up at you, frowning when they caught your gaze.
"Feliks, what are you doing?! Are you trying to kill yourself?!" You ran over to your best friend, throwing Francis to the side when you got close enough. He made a loud 'oof!' noise when he hit the lockers. You began to panic almost immediately once you saw the state Feliks was in. He had a bloody nose and it looked as if his pinkies were broken, which was really cruel to do to a man like Feliks. You gulped and glared harshly at the two in front of you. "You guys are heartless beings! I don't even see what gave you the right to act as if he had just killed your dog!" Gilbert's lip twitched as you helped your friend stand up. You gave them another glare, as if you were looking right through their souls as you turned around and continued your walk towards the stairs. Once they were out of earshot and you had reached the stairs, you helped Feliks lean on the stair bar. "Feliks, you're gonna have to get on my back. You look like you can't even walk." He laughed lightly and nodded, hopping onto your back with all the power he could muster up.
"You're, like, such a great person, [Name]. I hope you know how much I, like, totally love you." You rolled your eyes playfully and nodded, slowly making your way down the stairs. He smiled softly and rested his head on top of yours. "You seriously, like, have no idea how much I love you. You're just the most fabulous friend I've ever had. I put you before Toris, even, and that's sayin' something." You both laughed at the silly joke Feliks made and got down to the first floor of the high school. You set Feliks down and he pulled you into a bear hug. "I love you so much, [Name]. That's why I got into a fight with those three; it's because they made fun of you earlier." You blinked in shock and looked at him with wide eyes, a laugh escaping his Polish lips as he saw your reaction. "Cat got your tongue?"
"Feliks…I…I didn't know that's why…" He chuckled and shook his head, ruffling your hair gently.
"Dude, you're totally awesome. I can't thank you enough for how much you've ever done for me." He limped over to your stuff and picked it up. You gasped a little and ran over to him, grabbing your backpack from him.
"You can wear my coat; you need it more than I do, anyways. We need to get you to the hospital…Your pinkies are broken, too." Feliks chuckled and nodded, pulling his keys from his pocket as he made his way to his car that was parked in the back of school.
---
In the end, Feliks left the hospital with two broken pinkies, a black eye, and a lollipop, in which he bugged out of the doctor. You smiled at your childish friend as he made his way back to his car. You gulped and took the keys from him once again, causing him to pout at you.
"Like, what the heck!" You shook your head at him.
"With two broken pinkies and a black eye, I don't trust you to be driving at the moment. You might crash into a baby's cradle or something of the like." Feliks laughed at your statement and nodded, making his way to the passenger's seat.
"So, do you like, want to get something to eat?"
"You know it."
So, Bruno Mars is attacking my inspiration strings again.
I was on my way to an eye appointment and this song came on and I was just sitting there like,
"BRUNO MARS YOU STOP TAKING CONTROL OF MY WRITING INSPIRATION."
<w>
But, it's okay.
Poland is describing his friendly love to you.
I mean, why wouldn't he?
You just saved him from being majorly damaged.
I would love you forever if you did that. Though, I love you guys anyways.
So, I hope you enjoy this! >w<
