"Hey, guys, I'll see you later! I figured I'd try to get ready myself, just to surprise everyone or something to that effect." Zoe smiled and waved to her group of friends, who were going over to Allison's house to get ready together for prom. In fact, it was just in a few hours, making her blush a bit from the memory of going with Lovino to prom. Why had she even agreed? Not even she knew.

Shaking the thought away, she made her way down the road to her house, opposite direction of Allison's. On the way there, she thought of if she should dance or not, and then she began thinking if she should eat before going or not. Then, the rest of the time walking to her house, she was yelling and questioning herself as to why Lovino had asked her in the first place.

"Hey, guys, I'm home…" Zoe sighed and dropped her bag next to the door, bending down and untying her shoes so she didn't track dirt around the house. After picking her bag up again, she made her way to her room and fell face first on the floor.

After about five minutes, her eldest brother walked in and glanced at her in confusion. "So, you're going to prom with that loser, aren't you?"

She frowned and sat up, not noticing the way her hair stood up at all ends. "Well, big brother, he's not a loser. And, I am going with him because he had no better way of asking besides forcing it onto me. No matter what you say, I'm going with him."

He chuckled and walked over, bending down and brushing her hair down with his fingers. "I never said you couldn't go, I was just wondering who it was with. Now, if it was with that American idiot Alfred, then I'd have to hold you back by force."

"Oh, how kind you are, big brother." She rolled her eyes, a smile on her face.

Yao stood up and made his way to the door. "Well, I think that the water is still hot, so you can take a shower quickly and I'll help you get ready for the prom."

Zoe nodded, smiling at him. "Thanks, though, big brother."

~~~
"Okay, put this in your mouth." Yao handed Zoe a mint, and she eyed it cautiously.
"Big brother, what is this for? Are you trying to imply something?"
Yao sighed and put it in her mouth when she opened it anyways. "You just ate dinner, and I'm doing your make up. Not a very good combination."
"Are you still trying to imply something, then?" She smirked at her brother, letting the mint melt in her mouth instead of chewing on it and ruining the point of it.
He frowned and browsed her make up stash. "Who gave you all this make up, anyways? Mother didn't even have this much when she gave it to you before…"
She shrugged, playing with her fingernails. "I dunno. Feliks and my other friends bought me a bunch of it for my birthday, even though they know I wasn't going to touch it ever…"
"Well, now you are. What the heck matches with your outfit, anyways?" Yao examined the blush pink kimono-shirt that Zoe was wearing, looking from his selections of eye shadows. Zoe scratched the back of her head, her heart racing quickly as he did so. She's never worn make up before, and she knows it'll feel really awkward on her face. "Alright, close your eyes."
"Wait, what?" Zoe was thoroughly confused as to why she had to close her eyes. "Why?"
"How else am I gonna put this on you?"
"Well…Can't you just do it with my eyes open?"
"Zoe, you couldn't possibly think that that was how you put make up on, could you?"
"…Maybe."
"Aiyah…You really need to learn how to be a girl…"
~~~

"Are you seriously using that much hair spray? When did we even get this!?" Zoe complained as Yao began to spray her hair with hair spray.

He sighed and examined her hair. "I think Kiku bought it for a birthday present for a friend, but then remembered it should have been hair gel instead and forgot to return it."

"Wow, brother…You're dumb sometimes…"

Kiku blushed a bit in embarrassment, handing Yao a comb. "I-I'm sorry, I was really busy that day and I didn't know which one to get…The hair spray was cheaper, though…"

Zoe giggled and shook her head, causing Yao to hit her head with the brush. "No need to be sorry, just letting you know something."

Kiku smiled a bit and stood up, walking over to the closet, rummaging through the boxes located in it. Zoe began to hum as Yao continued to play with her hair, fixing it in a way that would match her standards. She hated her hair in buns, but loved ponytails. Yao would have fun with that.

"Here, big brother. I'm sure this'll help in a way." Kiku held a box out to Yao, who took it with a smile and opened it to look at its contents. Meanwhile, Zoe was busy admiring herself in the mirror in front of her, lightly touching her hair. It was pulled up into a near-top ponytail on her head, her bangs parted to the right side of her face while the other side was pinned back with a blush pink flower.

"Big brother, how'd you learn how to do this? This is amazing!" She giggled and started poking at her flower. "I've never felt so pretty in my whole life!"

"You're always pretty, Zoe." Yao chuckled and walked over, pulling what was in the box out and sticking them in his little sister's ponytail. She went wide eyed, realizing what they were as he began to position them in her hair. "Don't lose these, Zoe."

"Y-Yao, these are…"

"Mother said that you could use these when it was one of the most special days of your life." Kiku smiled and set the box on the table beside the mirror, pulling out his camera and taking a quick picture of her.

"They're tradition in our family; don't be so worried about it." Yao chuckled. "One day, you'll be putting these in your child's hair for her prom."

Just then, the doorbell rang. Yao motioned for Kiku to get it, in which he did immediately. He turned and looked at Zoe, smiling at her. "Well, don't keep him waiting for too long." He helped her up and fixed her dress up for her. "Don't be out too late, and don't let him try anything, got it?"

Zoe giggled. "Of course you'd worry about that. You sound like you'll never see me again, jeez."

Yao chuckled and replied, "You have karate classes tomorrow in the morning, that's why you need a lot of rest for it. Just don't be out so late that when you come back Kiku and I are asleep."

Rolling her eyes playfully, a smile still on her face, she nodded. "Alright, big brother. I promise." She turned to go to the door, but was stopped by Yao once again.

"By the way…" He turned her around and fixed her flower. "You'll always look like royalty in my eyes."

I have to edit it and stuff, but it's all Chinese and shit. *u*
Rosie helped me choose a princess, though we first thought of me going as Princess Daisy.
But that's Nintendo :iconsulkplz:

Anyways, I decided it'd be a Mulan dress.
Nyehnyehnyeh
I'm crazy.

Uhm...I'll link the picture of my outfit and stuff later or something.

Yeah, I've never put on make up before. I dunno how to, too, so that's why Yao helped me.

I just realized that maybe the only thing that I kept from Mulan's outfit was the color of the dress and the hair accessories. :iconderpplz:
